What is Personality Assessment?

Objective personality assessments use structured questionnaires with standardized scoring to evaluate clinical personality patterns, psychopathology, and behavioral tendencies. At Manasvi, we utilize globally recognized inventories like the MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) and MCMI (Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory) to provide diagnostic clarity.

Why Personality Assessment?

  • Highly standardized and scientifically validated
  • Detects response bias, exaggeration, or defensiveness
  • Provides a comprehensive profile of clinical syndromes and personality traits
  • Helps customize psychotherapy and medical treatment plans

What to expect

You will complete a series of true/false or multiple-choice questions on a computer or paper. Because these inventories are comprehensive, they can take 1.5 to 2.5 hours to complete. A clinical psychologist will then score and interpret the profile, providing a detailed diagnostic report.

Common questions

What is the difference between the MMPI and MCMI?
The MMPI is primarily designed to assess major clinical symptoms and general psychopathology (like depression, paranoia, and hysteria). The MCMI focuses more specifically on personality disorders and multiaxial clinical profiles. Your psychologist will choose the test best suited for your diagnostic needs.
