What is Aptitude Testing?

Aptitude testing measures a person's natural capacity to acquire specific skills or knowledge in different areas, such as numerical reasoning, verbal logic, spatial visualization, and mechanical understanding. Together with interest inventories, these tests provide objective guidance for students and professionals planning their academic or career paths.

Why Aptitude Testing?

  • Identifies natural strengths and areas of high potential
  • Removes guesswork from subject and stream selection after 10th/12th grade
  • Aligns career planning with objective capabilities and interests
  • Provides clear direction for professional development or career transition

What to expect

Aptitude testing consists of timed, structured reasoning tasks covering numerical, verbal, abstract, and mechanical skills. The testing takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Following the test, you will receive a detailed report and a counselling session to discuss suitable career domains and academic pathways.

What Aptitude Testing is used for

Stream selection (after 10th/12th) Career guidance for graduates Professional career transitions Skill set evaluation

Common questions

Is an aptitude test the same as an IQ test?
No. While an IQ test measures general cognitive potential, an aptitude test evaluates specific skills and natural strengths in individual domains (like math, language, or spatial reasoning) to determine practical career and academic fit.
